Camilla || Road To The Blue House Lookbook + New Life Paths

It's been a whirlwind of both good and bad these last two weeks that has kept me from posting. The good - A dear family friend came from Canada to hang with us for a few days and we had a ball!  The bad - my sweet little babe had her first real illness; a nasty stomach virus.  I don't know who was more traumatized - her, or my husband and I. She's all better now, but it sure shook us up. There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer and not being able to take away all of their discomfort. I cannot imagine the heartache of having to deal with a worse sickness.
Then to compound an already super stressful and sleepless time, we got the news that change is coming down the pipes with my mans j.o.b. It looks like he won't be able to work from home anymore at best. The little lady and I will miss having him around for family lunches for sure. As with all change, I am trying to see the good. More than likely there is an underlying blessing to be revealed to us soon enough. There always is.
So, not to be a downer or anything but the creative juices just ain't flowin' around here while we recoup and wait for our new path to open ahead of us. My projects are on hold until I can gather my gusto again. I'm gonna do my best to keep the energy flowing around here at GypsyYaya though. I think creativity begets creativity and sometimes you just have to force yourself out of a slump to get moving. Then before you know it, inspiration is flowing again.

Now down to the post at hand.  I was desperately searching for some eye candy to get me going and BAM, I found this. Whasssup Camilla! The new Autumn/Winter 2015 collection Road To The Blue House by Aussie designer Camilla Franks. Inspired by Frida Kahlo and her enchanting blue house in magical Mexico, it's a feast for the eyes isn't it? Her lookbooks never disappoint with her use of riotous color and pattern and there are too many pieces in this collection that I would love to have in my closet.

Pretty gorgeous stuff right? I love the representation of the Virgin Mary in there as well. And I'm not going to lie- I have considered incorporating fairy lights into my outfits on more than one occasion. Why not? View the entire lookbook in all it's glory HERE

  1. Beautiful and Inspiring! I love when Fashion and Art's lines are blurred; that has always been the point of Fashion for me.

  3. Just bookmarked your blog. I saw your post on IG about the tile decals (which looked awesome) and wanted to know more, which brought me here! As a fashion AND decor junkie, I loved this post and will be back to see older posts. You've also inspired me to continue blogging, something I've had a hard time doing for the last few months. Thank you for a lovely glimpse into your aesthetic world. Hope things settle down for you shortly, and yes, creativity has an ebb and flow. xxoo
