You know when you have one of those Aha! moments and something that's been bothering you finally falls into place? So satisfying isn't it? These handmade Vintage Crochet Potholders displayed in bold graphic collections on the wall is one of those moments for me.
I see them often in my thrifting forays...buried in the bottom of bins, lost , forlorn, sad. Someone lovingly made them and now they are useless and unwanted. I always pause when I see them and think- "What could I do with those?" I always came up with nothing and had to resist hoarding them without reason...But Now. Now I will rescue them from their dusty thrift store/estate sale graves and create a gorgeous arrangement in my kitchen pantry area. I just adore the patterns, colors and handmade nature of these sweet little momentos of the past!
While searching the web to find more images, I also came across them used as the flags on bunting (cute!) and as ornaments on a bare branch holiday tree (as above). It got me thinking of loads of ways to use them in my decor. I can hardly wait to get my hands on them and start creating. Granny Chic strikes again- with just the right amount of funk!
If you're not the dust bin diggin' type or simply don't have the time to grow your own collection, I found some great specimens on ETSY and EBAY to get you started. Me, I like the hunt. I 'll get back to ya'll with the final set up. What do ya'll think? Better left in Granny's kitchen or funkdified fabulousness?
