Iris Apfel's Manhattan Apartment

I'm loving the mounds of color in this fabulous woman's apartment. All though everything in it is no doubt insanely expensive, it's still a look one could easily pull off with the right thrift store finds. In the 1970's there was a revival of the "Gaudy Gold" and over the top look. They made velvet furniture galore, gilt plastic mirrors and much more to mimic this style. The best part is...nobody wants it (YET) so it's practically being given away in thrift stores and flea markets. Mark my words- Grab it up while you still can!

Now, if some of you don't have the time to scour the thrift stores or you don't have any good ones near you, there is always Etsy!
