Free People Wall

I saw these images on the Free People Blog, those girls are endlessly creative! They opened a new store in Philly and this was an art installation on one of the walls. So gorgeous! It makes me want to have a wall in my house for an ever~changing exhibit of my own artistic whims.

After The Rain...Endless Summer In New Orleans

A few weeks back I wrote about the arriving winter in New Orleans. That seems like a distant memory now as I am surrounded by unbelievably lush foliage and flowers exploding into full bloom. Dormant through the stifling heat of the summer, they are stretching their legs and coming out of hibernation. The warm rains coaxing them to open their buds. Every available crevice is filled with ferns, elephant leaves, banana and ginger. Shrubs that for months looked like nothing more than green dark leaves or barren branches are suddenly laden with giant blooms.

In the six years I was away from New Orleans after the storm, the memory of just how intoxicatingly beautiful it is, even in the dead of "Winter", had faded. Now my romance is rekindled. I wander the streets with my camera, trying to record the sense of amazement I am filled with at the sights around me.

New Orleans is most beautiful right after it rains. The way the light filters through the trees and the sun reflects on the water not yet dried. The fragrance of the Sweet Olive trees hangs heavy in the air. It is truly an other worldly experience. The houses are decorated for Mardi Gras, the Carnival season has just begun. Promises of the revelry to come are around every corner.

It is only the middle of January so a freeze still may come. For now it is an Endless Summer in New Orleans.

All photos were taken by me.  If you care to share them, please link to my blog.

Hopeless Romantic

Okay, okay this is my last dress post for awhile.  I swear!  I was feeling un-inspired in the decorating department for a week or so but I'm back now. These are some gorgeous images of some fantasy like frocks that I just had to share.  Who doesn't want to daydream about these dresses?

I'll take one of each please.

YolanCris Bohemian Wedding Dresses

This was one of those days where I found something so inspiring, so unbelievably beautiful that it's driving me mental. The source of it all? YolanCris- a dress maker based out of Barcelona, Spain. I can't even believe dresses SO beautiful exist, they are like something out of my dreams. I couldn't choose in a million years. I would have to get married constantly, they are all so lovely (didn't I say they're making me mental?)

I first saw this collection called "Alchemy". They are a gypsy, bohemian paradise. I would have happily died with that, but then I found MORE!

This is just a tiny taste of the collections ... Check the site out for yourself for pages of dress heaven. The page is in Spanish but there is an English translation option. No prices are listed, I guess if I have to ask I can't afford it. Sigh, one can dream.
